Terms of service
Last updated: 25 September 2026
These terms govern your use of AlignedComply. By creating an account, you agree to them.
1. What AlignedComply is
AlignedComply is a guidance tool that helps FCA-authorised firms map and track their Senior Managers & Certification Regime obligations, Fitness & Propriety assessments, and regulatory reporting deadlines.
AlignedComply does not provide legal or regulatory advice. It does not replace your firm's own compliance judgement, your Compliance Oversight function, or advice from a qualified solicitor or compliance consultant. You remain fully responsible for your firm's compliance with the FCA Handbook and all applicable regulation.
2. Pilot status
AlignedComply is currently in active pilot development. Features, the obligation content it generates, and the underlying regulatory data may change, be incomplete, or contain errors. See our Pilot disclaimer for more detail.
3. Your account
You must be authorised to act on behalf of your firm to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the accuracy of the information you enter — including firm details, permissions, and individuals you designate.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the platform: no attempting to circumvent security or access controls, no reverse engineering, and no reselling or sublicensing access without our written agreement.
5. Intellectual property
We own the AlignedComply platform, software, and content generated by it (such as the obligation-mapping logic). You retain ownership of the firm and individual data you input.
6. Third-party data
Where you use our FCA Register verification feature, the data returned is sourced from the FCA's own public API and is subject to the FCA's copyright notice, disclaimer and terms of use. We don't control the accuracy or availability of that data.
7. Disclaimers
The platform is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we don't guarantee that using it will result in your firm being, or remaining, compliant with FCA rules.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any regulatory action, fine, or loss arising from reliance on guidance generated by the platform. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under English law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Termination
You may stop using the platform and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. On termination, your data is handled as described in our Privacy policy.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform develops. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
